Public Liability Insurance

Public Liability Insurance provides protection against your legal liability to third parties, following injury or property damage caused in the course of your business. Cover extends to both defence costs and any subsequent awards.

This means, if you or your business injures a third party (that doesn’t mean someone who works for you, they’re covered by Employer’s Liability), or damages their property, Public Liability provides financial protection against damages (including legal costs) that might be awarded following a claim.

Most Local Authorities / Primary Contractors / Agencies have a minimum contractual cover requirement for their sub-contractors of £5 Million or, now more commonly, £10 Million.

Some insurers will only provide a maximum cover of £5 Million; here at Northern Alliance we have the facility to arrange the full £10 Million cover if required.

Northern Alliance can also arrange lower or higher levels of cover should they be required.
