Public Liability Insurance

Public Liability Insurance is a requirement for any business, however, it is an essential cover for contractors such as Scaffolding, Roofing, Installing (Insulation / Heating / Glazing / etc), Building Works, etc. as it covers any awards of damages to a third party as a result of an injury or damage to their property caused by you or your business.

This means, if you or your business injures a third party (that doesn’t mean someone who works for you, they’ve covered by Employer’s Liability), or their property, Public Liability provides financial protection against damages (including legal costs) that might be awarded following a claim.

Most Local Authorities / Primary Contractors / Agencies have a minimum contractual cover requirement for their sub-contractors of £5 Million or, now more commonly, £10 Million.

Many insurers will only provide a maximum cover of £5 Million; here at Northern Alliance we have the facility to provide the full £10 Million cover if required.

Northern Alliance can also arrange lower or higher levels of cover should they be required.
